Working Principle -Heat Pump Water Heater:

A compressor pumps the refrigerant between two heat exchanger coils.

In evaporator coil, the refrigerant is evaporated at low pressure and absorbs heat from its surroundings. The refrigerant is then compressed en route to the other coil. Here it condenses at high pressure and it releases the heat it absorbed, earlier in the cycle. The high pressure low temperature refrigerant will be converted into low pressure low temperature refrigerant when it passes through the expansion valve and the cycle will recommence.
